We are excited to announce that the last of this year’s series of research symposiums will take place on Friday, April 16 at 3 pm EST.
These symposiums are a chance for our members to share research that was originally planned for the 2020 conference in an online roundtable. Attendance is open to CSSC/SCEBD members in good standing, so please sign up and join us!
This symposium follows the theme of Representing Ideas and will feature work from four of our members:
- Dany Prince – “No One Made Me; I Was Always Like This”: The Monstress in Us
- Troy Bordun – Domino’s Philosophy of Luck
- Paul Malone – ‘This’ll Make You Laugh: I’m Not Wearing a Costume!’: Der Dalles – Personifying Austrian Economic Problems in the 1920s and 1930s
- Julian Lawrence – 21st Century Winter Journey: Exploring Comics, Adaptation, and Community Art Education
If you would like to take part in the symposium as a spectator and receive access to the participants’ research documents, please fill out the form found here. If you have not purchased your membership for 2021, you can do so here.
This will be our final symposium of the year, but perhaps we will be able to take this new online format forward into next year. For now, we look forward to seeing everyone at our annual conference June 3 and 4, 2021.
